ABOUT

Elizabeth Burr grew up with a strong athletic background and first discovered yoga as cross-training for her dance practice—but it quickly became so much more.

Lizz earned her BFA in Contemporary Dance from Indiana University, where she received comprehensive training in pedagogy, anatomy, and childhood development. The IU Dance Department, rooted in kinesiology and housed within the School of Public Health, provided a solid foundation for her movement and wellness education.

After graduating, Lizz received her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification in December 2017 through CorePower Yoga under the guidance of Eleni Grove and Maria Barone. This training sparked a deep exploration of yogic philosophy and lifestyle. She went on to complete CorePower’s 50-hour Extensions Program, diving further into sequencing, theming, and crafting powerful, intentional classes. In 2022, she completed her Health Coaching certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Lizz is currently the Studio Manager and an Instructor at CorePower Yoga’s Upper West Side location in New York City. She was one of the lead instructors of CorePower’s newest class format, CorePower Strength X—the studio’s first class dedicated to functional strength training. In addition to yoga and health coaching, Lizz is trained in STOTT Pilates and holds a CPR/AED certification through the National CPR Foundation, as well as instructor liability insurance through beYogi.

Lizz is passionate about helping women in all stages of life build strength, confidence, and connection to self. She thoughtfully tailors her classes and coaching to meet the unique goals and needs of each individual—supporting them in achieving sustainable fitness and wellness from the inside out.
